Artist Statement

One of the leading Lithuanian artists of his generation, painter Vidas Pinkevičius (1949-2012) mostly painted figure compositions with mythological and symbolical themes as well as landscapes. The artist often explored motives of blossoming lonely apple-trees, gardens, green meadows in spring or grey autumn still. Lithuanian folk motives and biblical stories are also very important in his creative work. Main features of his works are expressionistic style, dramatic form and texture, as well rich colour modes.

V.Pinkevičius could be considered as one of the most productive artist in Lithuania. For more than 30 years his motto was "No Day Without a Line".
